Electrical Diagnostics You Can Trust

Modern commercial vehicles rely on complex electrical and electronic systems. A single failing sensor, loose ground, or shorted wire can create performance problems, warning lights, or complete vehicle shutdowns.

  • Computer & ECM diagnostics
  • Starting & charging system testing
  • Battery load testing
  • Alternator & starter diagnostics
  • Wiring harness inspections
  • Ground integrity testing
  • Trailer electrical troubleshooting
  • ABS, DEF, and emissions system electrical faults
  • Sensor & module testing
  • CAN bus / communication network diagnostics

Using dealer-level diagnostic tools for major brands—including Freightliner, International, Peterbilt, Volvo, Kenworth, and Ford—our team identifies the true cause of electrical system failures and provides fast, effective repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions About Electrical Troubleshooting

Can you diagnose a truck that will not start?

Yes. A no-start condition can involve batteries, cables, connections, starter or charging systems, fuses, wiring, sensors, control modules, communication networks, or other vehicle systems. Eyre performs electrical and diagnostic testing to identify the cause before recommending repairs.

Why does my truck have an intermittent electrical problem?

Intermittent electrical problems can be caused by loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring, weak grounds, moisture intrusion, failing sensors or modules, voltage irregularities, or communication faults. Because the fault may not be present continuously, diagnosis may require code scanning, circuit testing, visual inspection, and testing under operating conditions.

Can you diagnose check-engine, ABS, DEF, or other warning lights?

Eyre diagnoses warning lights and related faults on commercial trucks and other qualifying vehicles. A warning light identifies a system that needs attention, but it does not by itself confirm which component needs replacement; diagnostic testing is used to identify the underlying cause.

Can you find battery-drain and charging-system problems?

Yes. Electrical diagnostic service can include battery testing, charging-system testing, alternator and starter evaluation, wiring and connection inspection, and investigation of abnormal battery drain. The required testing depends on the vehicle and symptoms.

Do you diagnose trailer lights and electrical connections?

Eyre can diagnose trailer-lighting, connector, wiring, brake-light, and related electrical concerns within its service scope. When scheduling, explain the truck-and-trailer combination and the symptoms so the team can plan the appropriate inspection.

Do you perform electrical diagnostics on trucks and RVs?

Yes. Our team can troubleshoot electrical systems on trucks, commercial vehicles, and RVs, including motorhomes. From complex wiring issues to generator and auxiliary power systems, we’re equipped to handle large-vehicle electrical repairs that many general shops can’t service.
